Chastity: How to live the gift
1 hour presentation designed for grades 8 - 12
The message of chastity is one that is often misunderstood in our world, and even among young people in our Church. The Church teaches that our sexuality is both a gift from God and a great responsibility. So many of our youth do not realize their own dignity or what a gift their sexuality is. In fact, many teens misuse and abuse this great gift from God. The message of chastity and an understanding of ones sexuality could not be more needed to counteract our sex saturated culture.
Our presentation, Chastity: How to Live the Gift, will introduce the virtue of chastity in a meaningful, engaging way. Our presentation has three main goals. First, we want to help youth understand what chastity is. We define chastity as “Living out God’s plan for your sexuality.” We break this down into two parts: 1) We are each called to a vocation, and 2) We are each called to be a man or woman of God. Our second goal is to give the youth a clear picture of what it means to be a man or woman of God. Finally, we leave the youth with some practical steps they can take to live a life of chastity.
If you are interested in bringing our presetation to your school or parish, please email Jimmie Davis at jdavis@ccyfh.org or fill out the form on the "Contact Us" page.
